Axon Set to Acquire Dedrone to Enhance Drone Security Solutions

Axon (Nasdaq: AXON), a leader in global public safety technology, has announced a definitive agreement to acquire Dedrone, a pioneer in airspace security. This merger aligns Axon’s mission to protect life with Dedrone’s expertise in managing drone threats and promoting beneficial drone use in public safety and national security sectors.

Rick Smith, Axon’s Founder and CEO, emphasized the strategic value of the merger: “By combining Axon’s 30-year legacy of innovation with Dedrone’s cutting-edge airspace security solutions, we aim to revolutionize public safety once again. The acquisition, expected to close in the second half of 2024, is subject to customary closing conditions. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Legal advisement for the transaction was provided by Sullivan & Cromwell LLP and Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP for Axon, and by Tidal Partners and Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr LLP for Dedrone.

Dedrone, recognized for its innovative command and control (C2) solutions to combat drone threats, has been acknowledged by TIME Magazine’s Best Inventions in 2023 and named a CNBC Disruptor 50 recipient for 2023.
